My Lord,

With reference to Sir Cecil Clementi's

confidential despatch of the 22nd of January, 1930, on the subject of the Trade Loan, I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that notice has been given to the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation in Hong Kong for a further repayment of £40,000 on the 5th of March, 1930, thus reducing this Government's sterling liability

to £180,000.
